The market of mobile phones is filled with various brands and different types of handhelds meant for various needs. Windows mobile was initially programmed to be used with the line of Pocket PCs from the house of Microsoft. Later it was used in the handhelds.
• Apple iOS: As the name suggests, this operating system is primarily run on Apple iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch. It is upto the choice of Apple on what type of software would be supported by its mobile platform. Inspite of this, there are numerous applications that can run on Apple phones and most of them even support mobile commerce and are quite easy to use.
• Blackberry OS: This mobile platform is mainly used on Blackberry phones and also happens to be one of the most popular OS for handhelds. This software is especially designed keeping in mind the needs of busy executives and its various functions are extremely user-friendly. Blackberry has concentrated more on features like emails, text messaging, and various other useful communication features. However, most of the entertainment features take a back seat when it comes to Blackberry OS.
• Android: This software was made with Linux as its base. Although it was made by an independent company, in the later days it was taken over by Google. Android is free handheld software.
